With the new Star Trek movie coming out in May 2009, I wanted to share my take on the CODA stats for these 4 Original Series Bridge Crew characters which were left out of the Narrator's Guide by Decipher. This is how I made the stats for Original Series Characters Sulu, Scotty, Chekov and Uhura:
First I collected the official stats for the 12 main characters: Captain James T. Kirk, Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy, Commander Spock, Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge, Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Colonel Kira Nerys, Quark, Captain Benjamin Sisko, Lieutenant Commander Worf, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Ensign Harry Kim and Lieutenant Commander Tuvok from the Narrator's Guide, and added the 3 statblocks for Captain Jonathan Archer, Subcommander T'Pol and Commander Travis "Trip" Tucker from the Unreleased Enterprise Sourcebook by Don Mappin for comparison. (You can check them out on PGoodman13's excellent website: http://strpg.patrickgoodman.org/)
Since their Species are human, I chose +2 to Will for all four. Their Professions are Starship Officer which meant Starship Duty as first Professional Ability and respectively chose Flight Control Officer, Starship Engineer, Flight Control Officer, Starship Operations Officer as their elite professions as suggested in the Player's Guide and filled in their Prerequisites. I respectively chose Starfleet "Brat", Engineering Brat, Academic Upbringing and Athletic Aptitude as their Personal development packages. Then I respectively chose Starship Command Officer>Flight Control>Helmsman/Navigator, Starship Operations Officer>Engineering>Troubleshooter, Starship Command Officer>Flight Control>Helmsman/Navigator, Starship Operations Officer>Operations>Basic System Operator as their Professional Developments. I used the Pick Method for Sulu's attributes as Agl 9, Int 10, Per 4, Prs 7, Str 5, Vit 7 and then distributed the 8 points as Agl 10, Int 10, Per 6, Prs 9, Str 6, Vit 9. Scotty's attributes as Agl 4, Int 10, Per 9, Prs 5, Str 7, Vit 7 and then distributed the 8 points as Agl 7, Int 10, Per 9, Prs 10, Str 7, Vit 7. Checkov's attributes as Agl 7, Int 7, Per 5, Prs 10, Str 4, Vit 9 and then distributed the 8 points as Agl 10, Int 8, Per 8, Prs 10, Str 5, Vit 9. Uhura's attributes as Agl 9, Int 7, Per 7, Prs 10, Str 4, Vit 5 and then distributed the 8 points as Agl 10, Int 8, Per 9, Prs 10, Str 5, Vit 8. Then I made a wishlist for abilities and skills based on their on-screen performances and advanced them through their levels to get to that point, without their Attribute Modifiers like in the other official Character's stats. It was a lot of work and I tripple-checked everything, but by being as thorough as possible I failed to get them all ready by Christmas, but here they are. "Use Them Together. Use Them in Peace." I welcome your input. Cheers!

The Star Trek XI alternate reality-version of Uhura will have to be tweaked a little now, since she mentioned in the movie that she also speaks Romulan ("Yes sir, all 3 dialects") so I'd also give her Language (Romulan) +6 since I bet she'd be the top of her class at it. Wouldn't want to create a bigger conflict through misinterpretation now would we?
I'll be narrating two 1-hour sessions at a small Star Trek con (hopefully a lot of new fans, drawn in by the new movie) in the Netherlands this saturday (may 23) for a bunch of newcomers to the game, and I plan on keeping things simple by handing them these TOS-characters for a stand-alone 1-hour introduction adventure for up to 7 new players, instantly showing them the range of possibilities, excitement and fun to be had in a Star Trek RPG.
For the scenario I plan on using my own reworked plot for the classic TOS-episode 'Elaan of Troyius' since that episode is funny and has a lot to do for all the 7 main characters. I wonder if this new crew'll be able to escort Elaan safely to Troyius as well.
Would you consider doing the stats separately? So you can have the TOS (prime) and TOS (Alternate) for those of us who do not wish to incorporate the movie?
Yes, I would. All of the stats above are unchanged and describe the TOS (prime) characters.
Until now the only difference in canon after Star Trek XI as far as I know between the TOS (prime) characters and the TOS (Alternate) characters is that Uhura (Alternate) now also has the skill Language: (Romulan) +6 and needs Advancements: 32 in order to get that.
When more changes become apparent, I'll rework the stats separately.

That is a nice series of character write-ups. Thanks for your work!
I formatted and PDF'ed for any who would like it.

Say, would someone be willing to perform this little exercise with the missing members of, say, the TNG crew, so I can post them on the support site as well? Once we get them done, someone else can do the DS9 crew, and then the VOY crew, and then the ENT crew.

I think the ENT crew were done in the fan-made ENT Sourcebook - not sure, though.
Hey Patrick, I am going to re-upload that PDF tonight or tomorrow with some better fonts. At least make it a bit more Trek looking.
That's cool, Tomcat. It's going to be a day or three before I do another update. Take your time.

Here it is... nothing major. Just a few font changes. I was going to get more creative, but after so many years doing the Hall of Fire, I have gotten a little lazy with this stuff.
Patrick Goodman has a PDF on his site that has CODA stats for Uhura, Sulu, Chekov, and Scotty....

For my part I'd love to see rules-legal stats for Data, Troi, Tom Paris, & B'Elanna Torres - it would help immensely in my conversions from FASA to CODA since several of our characters tend to be somewhat similar to those 4 (we have an android at ops, and a flight controller who's about as good as Tom at the helm, is half-Betazoid, and grew up in a Klingon street gang, ergo, about as tough and scrappy as Torres).
For the record, the PDF on my site is the same one found here in this thread, though I'm pleased as punch at other people promoting the site....

Oye ! Patrick !
I got my CODA books today, and statted out my Android using the Artilects booklet. Worked great.
Though perhaps an android might not be the most perfect character to start with the learn the CODA system and do conversions from FASA. Androids tend to be superior in both strength and intellect.
But, that's how I learn a system. I kinda playtest it. I do a character, run a few combats... and after that I generally know what goes where, and why.
And, it only took me a couple of hours to get the feel of the CODA system. It's a very good system.
Very glad to hear you're enjoying yourself, FASAGrrl!
