No danger really, the ship's been tossed into the quantum spaces between alternate realities and well part of it is Q's plan to "help" the CO broaden her horizons (he's seen fit to adopt her as his new "pet") by letting see the infinite possibilities of existence and maybe even help her find her two lost sheep.
    Arise, arise, Riders of Theoden!
Fell deed awake: fire and slaughter!
Spear shall be shaken, shields be splintered,
    a sword-day, a red-day, ere the sun rises!
Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor!

    Neat idea.

I had a Q take interest in Captain Lindsay back in our USS Farscape days, but I made it a different Q, other than DeLancie

    I look forward it

Oh this one is deLancie, you can see his hand in the whole thing since he popped in on Christmas Day.

And may I say excellent use of him

During the episode "Jago's Gambit" i used him, but the Chief Engineer used the Gambit Stone to wish that "I never see Q again!"

So next time he shows up, everyone else will be able to see Q, but not Chief Mitchell. It will be like the priest in Erik the Viking

    I think I screwed Up

I didn't notice when we played out the scenario...too much alcohol that night...and I didn't notice it until I was re-reading the thread this morning...

The CO has just committed an act of genocide and while no one knows about it, the Romulan ship got blasted in the gravatic rift but the other PCs know and I doubt they'd shut up about it. The Ops officer is a particularly officious and idealistic Vulcan (can a Vulcan be idealistic?)...so I may be faced with having to Court Martial her for this one and the Romulans would demand it...I mean what she has done pales in comparison to Kirk's actions in Star Trek III and that almost led to war with the Klingons. So now how the hell do I get myself out of this one? I have time because the ship is lost in the quantum rift between parallel dimensions but I doubt I can keep a lid on the players taking things into their own hands remembering that the CO by even entering Romulan space was doing something illegal and totally against orders.

this ties in perfectly with the whole "It's A Wonderful Life" angle dude.

Put her through the whole thing.

    Get her court-martialed.

Then have Q come back to her and offer her a way out, a chance to change her actions

Problem is that if she goes back and changes her actions, she condemns the universe to a religious tyranny...tough call...

Well since one of the parallel dimensions they'll be visiting is the world that would have been if the child hadn't been killed then that may assuage the conscience of the PCs until they get back. But then I could bring them back in orbit around the same planet but there are no black holes, no revolution, no child but three very confused wise men standing around looking stupid...hmm...

Well my advice (the worst vice of them all) is to think it through and see if there is a loop hole. As it stands I don't see any other choice for her, damed if she does, damed if she doesn't.

Still her choice was a bit extreme.

I know it was extreme but even you Zymmer dear boy didn't see the down side to it earlier on did you? Admit it you got carried away by the moment as I did . Now that she's dug her own grave, do I push her in or pull her out? Sometimes i wonder.

Truth is Captain Ozawa is the best skipper we had for years and I'd hate to loose her even if she can act like a loose canon. Well this should keep me busy over the New Year break.

Thanks for the advice buddy...or lack thereof . Okay :sarcasm mode off:

I will confess that I may have gotten caught up in the moment, but after all you did corner her

Now, what you have to do is have Q offer her a way out...it is Star Trek after all

As for advice...I have offered it Grasshopper...I have told you look within

Hey I didn't corner her...as stated above, Q was supposed to have done it then she'd have to convince him to put everything back...now she went and did it herself so I guess she's stuck with her actions...well lets see how she handles the consequences of what she has done next week and I'll play it from there. Ultimately I may have to heavy hand the ending...again...damn...great stories getting out of control...that's two in a row...
